curious about Ms. Mayfair

this film is playing on Fox Movie Channels as I type (5/28/07, 11:30Am Pacific Time for your records LOL). While I'm familiar with the careers of Kay Francis, Martha Raye and Carole Landis, this is the one and only time I'd ever heard of Mitzi Mayfair.

Anyone know much about her? Was she a starlet who never quite made it, or like many, married wealthy (Andrea Leeds and Jane Bryan to cite two) and retired happily?
