Movie previewed by Seabees in Jan 1944

I ran across the following while reviewing letters from my Seabee father written in January of 1944 as he waited to be shipped overseas. He had this to say about the movie.
"I received your nice letter at noon today. We got to go see the premiere of The Fighting Seabees. It is a good picture even if it is maybe a bit Hollywood in parts. You can see just how lots of things are done really. The part where they are going ashore & the construction part are exact. You will see what a fuel supply man has to accomplish. They withheld lots from the camera for obvious reasons. The airport is much real to life. The Seabees are famous for being hard headed so that part is natural. I assume you will go see the picture. It will not be a pretty sight to see in some places, but you can’t afford to miss it. It will probably be a good while before you get a chance to see it as it hasn’t been released yet"
