... white people. I once saw a Chinese movie were all the Germans were played by Chinese. Very uninentionally funny.

I don't but I saw the movie as well, a collection of Chinse girls trying to break into a german facility. It was from the 70's or 80's I think. I saw it dubbed. Sorry I can't remember the title.

It wasn't so funny to many Chinese in the LA area who wanted to act in those movies. Probably the most famous snub was to Anna May Wong who tried her darndest to play the part of Olan in "The Good Earth" and the part went to Luise Rainer. I just read Lisa See's book "On Gold Mountain" which is about Chinese and Chinese-Americans assimilating into our culture where I got an eyeful!

Yes, my comment was mostly to laugh at the absurdity of racism at the time. It seems so otherworldly to me. And there is still a lot of prejudice against Asian Americans and other minorities today. Though it's not as in your face. But Take the move 21 for instance. The MIT group it was based on was predominantly Asian American. That's what you call white washing. The same reason minorities almost never survive a horror movie.
