This movie could have been so good, but there were so many aspects I could just not get past:

All of the white people with putty on their eyelids playing Asians.
The husband of Katharine Hepburn who looked young enough to be her son.
The horrible accents, especially Akim Tamiroff with his thick Russian accent.

Maybe I could take one of these aspects by itself, but all together SO distracting!

I think it's ripe for a remake so they can do it right.

I didn't think the sons yellowface was bad. But Huston was just Huston, Hepburn was freaky, and Tamiroff.....what on earth was he doing there?! He could maybe pass for Greek or Italian, but Chinese? I almost wet my pants during his first scene.
