Sheer And Utter Power!

You "PC" types can piss and moan about Caucasians portraying Asians in this film until the cows come home!
The point being is the massive power behind this film and the situation it depicts during the JAP occupation of China and the humble people's resolve to remove them!
There is no reference to "Nationalists" or "Communists", just the resolve of a people to remove the yoke of a filthy vile monster named Japan from their home!
Next time you snicker at the "stereotypes" portrayed in this film, remember incidents like the "Rape of Nanking" where hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children were butchered like cattle by a vile enemy who, to this day has refused to apologize for their atrocities against humanity!
THINK ABOUT IT!

I don't think the poor reception of this movie has anything to do with political correctness. On a PC scale of 1-10 I'm a 1, and that's what I rated this unwatchable movie. After 45 minutes, I had to shut it down because it was just a bizarre mess, and the gum and tape on Katherine Hepburn's eyes were giving -ME- a headache.

The old man was very philosophical. People turned off by the appearance of the actors should listen to the dialogue instead as a radio or podcast. An interesting film, thanks TCM!
