Hollywood Russophilia didn't last long

By the time this film came out, it was back to prewar Russophobia, as evidenced by Eve Arden's caricatured performance here.

Doubt is good for the human soul.

Eve Arden should have gotten an Oscar for her comic portrayal. It never let up, and it was hilarious throughout!

I think you're mis-timing here. Russia was still an "ally" when this film was made, as evidenced by Eve Ardent's caricatured performance. She is a "sympathetic" figure not an evil one.

Unless you mean that the film was released much later than 1944 when it was made, but I don't know about that.
