good or bad ghost?
Why does Irena's ghost materializes to mask over the woman who is hoping to kill the little girl Alice. Alice runs to her, to now have the crazy ladies hands on her neck!
shareIrena herself didn't materialize to lure Amy into a trap. It was simply Amy mistaking Barbara for Irena in the dim light. To be fair, the two of them did look a lot alike. So much so that at first I thought that Simone Simon was playing a dual role.
So no, Irena's innocent on this occasion.
I thought that for the moment, Irena melded with Barbara and managed to tone down her temper.

That's basically the impression I got - that Irena transferred some of her own compassion for Amy to Barbara, so that Barbara no longer saw Amy as a threat but as a frightened and helpless child.
Exactly: Irena served as a mediator, providing friendship to the socially withdrawn Amy and smoothing out Barbara's rough edges. Really, her character's presence here seemed a bit forced, which is inevitable in a sequel when you kill off your lead character in the original, but it works.
shareWell, being that that's almost certainly Irena's ghost, the story wouldn't work with a LIVE Irena.

I don't think the daughter was a ghost or any of that. the mother for some unexplained reason, probably due to the fact. this was just a subplot for Amy's story.
disliked her daughter. elderly parents do this quite often. I know since my own elderly mother can be this way towards me.
