Brave Donald

As Donald sees what he believes to be certain death roaring down on him (the bolders and the rushing water), he quickly snaps to attention and salutes. I think this is one of the most surprising and poignant moments I've ever seen in a caroon. Has Donald ever been a hero, before or since?
