Did Susannah Foster always sing that badly?

My God, what a terrible excuse for a trained singer. Yet, she can hit some power notes, but she's constantly running out of breath and botched most of the fast stuff.

Not that anyone could impress in those wonderfully awful super-cheesy stage scenes, but you'd think they'd have been able to get enough takes to leave out the clams!

Hi There. I just saw the Climax and thought Susannah Foster gorgeous, but thought her singing was appaling.
In fact I thought it so bad, it reminded me of a saying in I think it was Monty Python, when a character said something was so bad he felt like chewing off his own leg, I was losing will to live listening to her catawauling.
Was it really her singing? It sounded more like an old woman.
Why did people rave all the time about her voice, I was with Boris trying to stop her singing, pity he never managed it lol.
Also I have found a way to sleep if I ever have trouble sleeping watch that film again.
It broke the cardinal rule in a film, a film can have bad acting, direction, script, special effects (Plan 9 ultimate example of this) but under no circumstances should it be boring.
Unfortunately The Climax broke that cardinal rule big time.
I was bored about 25 mins into it, and like Phantom Of The Opera with Claude Rains (With Susanna Foster again why?)it had much too much opera in it.
I did manage to stay with it to the end (Must admit I watched it in about 4 bits, could not manage to watch it in one go, that would be too draining mentally) hoping it would get better it didn't
Colin.

I agree with Nemesis. One of the only opera style singers I like
