What a laugh on me ! ! I was hunting good Christmas flicks and have found that this (although great) story, has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas.
I can alwasy depend on Internet Movie Data Base to let me know the paticulars on any movie.
Thanks to a co-worker I am catching up on the film career of Deanna Durbin via DVDs marketed by (at that time) Hollywoodsattic.com, the collection which included "Christmas Holiday". For the most part the DVDs from this manufacturer do not contain extra features nor commentary.
"Christmas Holiday" is probably Ms. Durbin's best film for the middle part of her career, with "Lady on a Train" as a close second. It's really quite good, well directed, and beautifully photographed (including some excellent shots photographed from a boom). Not exactly holiday fare, however!
