My review

I just finished watching The Canterville Ghost (1944). This family comedy/fantasy is about a frightened ghost, a young heiress, and the American soldier who may be able to free the ghost with an act of bravery. This film was enjoyable and charming. Margaret O'Brien is adorable and delightful and Charles Laughton is memorable and fun as the cowardly, yet loveable ghost. Some nifty, cool visual effects too. They story doesn't always work perfectly, but it is worth seeing it for the performances. My rating is an 8/10.
