Colpepper and Alison (spoilers)

Am I the only person who had hoped Colpepper and Alison would fall in love? I thought they were going to, after she says she could live in a house like his forever, and how much she loves the countryside. They both have a spiritual connection to Canterbury. I was glad her fiancee lived and his father accepted her- but I wanted Alison and Colpepper to end up together.

When she found out the caravan was no longer any good, I wanted Colpepper to tell her that she could stay in the village and marry him.
