A big yawn.

I'll bet even Miss Durbin would agree with me that her talent was wasted in this huge pile of corn. The music must be among the least inspired ever penned by the great Jerome Kern and the Harburg lyrics were not much better. It's a pity this is Durbin's only Technicolor film. Akim Tamiroff's character was one of the few bright spots in this rickety, plot-challenged excuse for a musical.
I don't think I want to go to the pictures. Oh?Why not? I've seen everything worth seeing.

One of my co-workers loaned me a DVD copy of "Can't Help Singing". I agree; couldn't get through it. It's very plotty, and I wasn't crazy about Ms. Durbin's leading man. For the record I believe this was Jerome Kern's final finished motion picture musical score.

Plotty?
