good quality dvd?

I have Bluebeard on DVD, but the print quality is bad. It's especially heartbreaking, because the puppet sequence near the beginning is all spliced up. Does anyone have a fairly decent print? If so, please tell us who produced the DVD...

At Best Buy, I found a boxed set of 50 horror classics for like $10. Haven't seen them all yet (some I've turned off because they were so cheesy) but they're older movies and "Bluebeard" is one of them. It had the quality you'd expect from a 1944 movie, but I don't remember anything particularly bad about the puppet sequence.

Most editions of Bluebeard are poor, the sound is the most prominant problem on all and a lot of bright flare on the picture. The best Ive managed to locate is the ROAN release called THE BLACK AND BLUE COLLECTION. I like the film but the costant, annoying music is a negative point.

No lie, I think there might be a total of 75 seconds in the whole film that aren't punctuated by music.

It ain't easy being green, or anything else, other than to be me
