Is this on DVD?

Does anyone know if this is on DVD? In video stores?

reply

It is not on DVD yet, but it is supposed to be coming out sometime in 2008, as part of a release of several Bette Davis films by Warner, in celebration of her centennial next year. No date as of this posting. WATCH will likely be part of a Davis box set, and if so I hope it'll also be available separately. Bette's birthday is April 5 so maybe it'll come out around then.

(Other Davis films reportedly slated for release in '08 from Warner include DANGEROUS, ALL THIS AND HEAVEN TOO, IN THIS OUR LIFE, and THE CORN IS GREEN -- none yet released on DVD, all from her home studio of Warner Bros. Others may also come out. Fox is also said to be planning a Davis three-film set of Bette's Fox films, but the only title I've seen so far is THE VIRGIN QUEEN. She didn't make too many films for 20th and the best of these -- ALL ABOUT EVE, HUSH...HUSH, SWEET CHARLOTTE -- have already been released. Maybe they'll include lesser movies like PHONE CALL FROM A STRANGER in their pack.)

Thanks for the info! I've been wanting WotR for a while, but I haven't been able to bring myself to shell out 20 bucks for a VHS.

Me too (and me neither!). I'll keep a watch out for it and post when I learn anything, though that may be a while.
