All the Eddie Cantor insults...

Absolutely hysterical. They ragged Eddie Cantor mercilessly throughout the entire picture, with insult after insult after insult.

He had to be a good sport to take everything that was dished out in this one. The household staff complaining about having to listen to his songs, or the barbershop scene with the huge photo of Cantor and everyone ripping him to shreds....I loved it!

Like when Dennis Morgan said he was gonna break every bone in Cantor's body, and Cuddles Sakall added "can you kick him while he is down, and step on his face a little?"

I stayed up and watched this as a late movie about forty years ago, when we only had four channels and no recording machines, and I've been a fan of it ever since, and truthfully one of the biggest reasons has to be Cantor.

At best, the only old actor like this I could think of with this sort of reputation (ego, miser, etc.) would have to be Jack Benny.

Milton Berle stole jokes was his bit.

But Cantor was torn to pieces in this movie, especially ending up in the mental hospital, and his look-alike cared nothing for him. All too funny.
