Twin Peaks

Does Young Charlie remind anyone of Donna Hayward from Twin Peaks ?

Sensible middle-class girls from the suburbs / had 'less fortunate' classmate (Laura in TP, the waitress in SOD) / two smaller siblings / discover sleaze and small-town naiveté / thrust into reality / physical similarities in dress.

I didn't at the time but now that you mention it i really see it

She reminds me more of Audrey, maybe because of her curiosity and passion for detectives.

Yes, more Donna than Audrey, who though one of my favorite characters was more of a spoiled rich brat than either Donna or Charlie. But most of the echoes of earlier stories in Twin Peaks are blends, not just copies. And there is that unsettling library trip.

Lara Flynn Boyle in that series reminded me somewhere between Teresa Wright and Donna Reed, an actress from another movie that resonates in Twin Peaks.
