I can't remember if I saw Salute to the Marines before. Having been in the corps in the late '60s I'm always interested in seeing the backdrops used in movies about the Marines such as the Recruit Depot in San Diego that has been used in a number of films like Gung Ho!.

The uniforms of the periods and equipment is also of interest in old movies about the Marines. The storyline and acting is another matter, such as Salute to the Marines that is rather campy, especially with Wallace Beery in such usual role for Beery.
