Why don't make a modern remake of this remake ?

Is maybe a perfect cast ?

Something to ponder: If this is your "2nd favorite Phantom philm!" - why on earth would you want to see it remade???

I'd consider the Hammer Films version from 1962 to be a remake of this rather than an adaption of the source material. In terms of the portrayal of the Phantom, they were obviously inspired by the character Claude Rains played. Hammer's version is darker and features, of course, a few more horror elements, but people who enjoy this version should find the Hammer film worth watching. It is available on DVD as part of Universal's Hammer Horror Series set, along with 7 other Hammer classics from this period.
