Working to clear a man she secretly loves who is wrongly convicted of murder. In both films an unfaithful wife drives the plot. In both films she's running around looking for a woman who could possibly give the convicted man an alibi. I should add the accused in the 1st film has been tried & convicted. In the 2nd film he's on trial all the time she's trying to find the woman. Also both film have a policeman helping her find evidence because he finally comes to believe the man is innocent as she does.
