It would appear this film is being remade or at least a new version of it has been announced with Cameron Diaz as producer.
I'm not sure if she'll also star in the film, but why can't Hollywood come up with any new ideas?

It was already remade once in 1981, retitled Rich and Famous.
shareI love the films of the 1930s, 1940s, but I have to say that Rich and Famous is a worthy remake. Love this film even more than "Old Acquaintance." Starring Candace Bergen (in the Hopkins role) and Jacqueline Bisset (Davis' role), George Cukor's last directorial project, and Meg Ryan's very first film.
