Is this supposed to be slapstick funny?
The opening 30 minutes is pretty bad and Loretta Young is really bad. Not the humor shown in The Doctor Takes a Wife.

missing the style of the Thin Man series...The Thin Man movies are serious crime dramas with a lot of humor. They're not parodies of the genre. Nick Charles is a serious, and very good, detective.
