has anybody any information regarding a future dvd release for this film?

No idea about future releases, but you can buy video versions on amazon.co.uk

It's being released on region 2 on January 15th 2007.

Yes January 15th, from Network. Hopefully with good extras.

The 116 minute version is being shown on digital TV channel Film4 this Thursday

They are probably showing the same shorter version that they have screened several times. It's scheduled from 3pm to 4.55pm, which would indicate that it must be the shorter version. With at least three commercial breaks (a must for a commercial channel like Film4) and trailers for Film4 at either end, they could not fit the full length version into that time slot. If it was full length (approx 112 minutes at PAL transmission speed of 25 f.p.s) then they would need a 125-130 minute time slot in order to fit in the whole film plus commercials and trailers.

Criterion in the US releasing 'Three Wicked Melodramas from Gainsborough Pictures' -- the first of three is 'The Man in Grey.' On sale today at Barnes & Nobles 50% off -- (November 8 2012).
