***SPOILER*** The film ending

Do you think we are supposed to think that Lord Rohan actually beat Hester to death? ie in place of a court finding her guilty of murder? I reckon the implication is there in the family motto, and within the story arc it balance out Clarissa's fate, but I'm just wondering if that was what the majority of the audience would conclude.

Incidentally, I've just finished watching it and I am so glad I hadn't read any spoilers- that way I was completely taken aback by what happened to Clarissa, although with hindsight it was obvious. I now need to find me a fortune teller as good as the one in the film!
