The Leopard Man novel - Black Alibi

Movie girl: Several years ago in a bookstore I was directed to Cornell Woolrich's books. The first one I encountered was Black Alibi. After reading Black Alibi, I realized that it was the story of The Leopard Man. I had seen the film recently one evening and found it quite engrossing and scary.

The book is very well done as is the film. THe suspense angle was handled in an interesting fashion and we don't really see the whole motivation behind the basic premise to start with. THe tension builds as one navigates the labyrinth-type clues that slowly surface.

After reading Black Alibi I soon found myself reading I Married a Dead Man also by Woolrich, a very good author. THe film is called No Man of Her Own '50.

Now I have read many of Cornell's mystery novels. They are well-worth adding to one's library of rich characterizations.
