Mae West uncredited screenwriting contribution?

Mae West has never been credited anywhere with having written any of the script of THE HEAT'S ON but she simply has to have been responsible for rewriting many of her scenes, most of which have some very good "Mae West" lines and all of which have a humor that simply is not found anywhere else in the film even in bits by others that are clearly supposed to be funny. I suspect Mae knew this movie was no winner and was one time she didn't want her name on the writing credits.
