Betty Hutton

Sorry to report that March 11, 2007, Betty Hutton died.

She was one of my favorite singers/actresses. Why? I don't know. I think she brought with her a "breathless enthusiasm" to whatever role it was. For this film, which I have not seen, but am shopping for, I wanted to see Betty Hutton sing "Murder, He Says." I did get to see her sing the song for a USO show Bob Hope was emcee for, on some video clip of WWII highlights, which is why I want to see the "original" now. She did the song so great!

It is too bad that the movies I have seen Betty Hutton in were not exactly top notch, even if her role was always with a certain Betty-Hutton-ish "breathless enthusiam."

The pun or play on words, "Murder She Wrote," should be obvious now, the source of that title being this song.

Dang! When is this film going on DVD?
