watched restored dvd ,good but not great film?

Saw this on tv years ago and liked it a lot so bought the new restored dvd as soon as I saw it.

But I did not enjoy it as much as I had the last time I saw it,not sure why,it is a long film for its time and the plot does not move fast at times.

But there is still something I admire about it.
I ignore the usual problems with war films made during the war (World War 1 German helmets and the rifles being wrong)

I think the way people keep stopping to make speeches is a negative in this film.

I have to mention other people here complaining that the film is inaccurate and that the facts were known in 1943.

I doubt the facts were well known in 1943,it was a British-Czecho-Slovakia operation but at the time the allies claimed it was done by local resistance groups,because it would be good for people to think it had been a local operation rather than organised from outside the country.
People still write books about the operation now so I don't blame Hollywood for not making a documentary in 1943.
