I just watched a video where former marines returned to the island to recover the bodies. The native inhabitants of the island had found the bodies and gave them a decent burial. The grandson of one of the original natives knew where the graves were and led the marines to them. They were then removed and taken home. MARINES LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND ! Semper Fi

I think I first saw Gung Ho when I was in junior-high around 1980, so I was aware of the raid. I spent four years in the Marine Corps myself. When I read up on the Marines that they recovered in 2001, I found out one of them was from my hometown, which makes it that much more interesting. Up until that point, I had no idea.
