What is your favourite version of the english language as spoken by Carmen Miranda? I think my two favourites are "I spilled the cat out of the beans" and "he is a two-time double-crossed snake in the bush"!

I gotta say, the cat/beans mixed metaphor is one of my all time favorites. I just saw "The Gang's All Here" recently, and the line that tickled me most was "No, I'm not crazy. My name is Dorita." Said with her customary exuberance. Another one of my favorites, from one of the films with Betty Grables--when she meets Betty Grable for the first time, she says "Pleased to meet me." I also love the various metaphors in "Copacabana," even though that's apparently regarded as her worst film. I just liked seeing her hatless, to tell you the truth. At any rate, the lines I enjoyed from that film are "She run away, that yellow spine. She run out through the window" and "That Mademoiselle Fifi, she's the grass in snake, no?" Oh, and who can forget Carmen worrying about having a "nervous breakup." That being said, even though I love the Miranda-isms, it would be even more wonderful to hear how she actually spoke. Sometimes I think you get a hint of it in her films...but not enough to get a clear picture.
