This has been on my must-see list for some time. Can't wait!

It didn't disappoint either. WWII intrigue at its best! The first few scenes even had me reaching for the bottled water. Had no idea this was its TCM debut.

And poor, frazzled Akim Tamiroff never gets a moment of peace in his own place.

I hadn't seen this film since I was a child and they used to show it on local stations. It sucked me in from the opening shot of the tank on the desert. Proves again that Franchot Tone should have been a bigger star. Everyone was excellent and while I prefer James Mason as Rommel, von Stroheim was very good.

I thought this would be my first time viewing this, but once it started then everything seemed so familiar. So I must have seen it on TCM earlier this year. This time I paid closer attention to the plot details, but I will have to see it again as I'm sure I still missed a great deal.

Hi Wakanohana,

It's truly worth seeing.
