Good Way to See Red and Lucille Together !

I think this movie is the funniest of all of Red Skelton's movies. Yes it does have a lot of dancing by Gene Kelly and a lot of singing by everybody and this may be a turnoff for some. But I find it is all worth it to see the two redheads Red and Lucille together. I especially love the "Friendship" song by Red, Gene and Lucille. You also get to see a very young and funny Zero Mostel !! Don't miss this one !!

I too have been a Lucy fan since I was a wee tot! I am a collector of her things as well.

I can tell you that it is NOT her voice coming out of her mouth while singing. haha

There are some funny scenes wih Red and Virginia as well.

But it is when she sings "Friendship"!

I liked the scenes with Red Buttons and Lucille Ball together. Not many movies co-star two red heads. At least with two, well known, stars. I couldn't think of any other ones.

It's Red Skelton not Red buttons lol. I wasn't sure if that was Lucy singing in the beginning or not..I'm watching it right now and it just started...but I figured it might be because Lucy could actually sing. She just acted like she couldn't for I Love Lucy. Also, the way she spoke on I Love Lucy was different from the way she actually spoke. Her natural voice was a bit deeper and she spoke eloquently. If the singing on "friendship" was bad, it's because it's supposed to be sung that way-that's my assumption at least. I'll have to watch the whole thing again before I can make any judgement calls.

Since no one answered you, southerngirl86, I will. The opening number is not Lucille Ball. She's being dubbed by someone named Martha Mears.

Thanks, dmnemaine. I'm watching the movie for the first time and thought it was obvious Lucille was lip-synching the opening number. Her speaking voice in the movie is not the voice of a singer.
