Technicolor advisor?

In the opening credits one of the names listed is credited as being Technicolor advisor.
Why would a black and white movie have a Technicolor advisor?

reply

I am speculating, but one possibility is the use of wartime combat or training footage. Once the war began, technicolor film was rationed with the war department having first call. They filmed some training films and some combat footage in technicolor at a time when commercial films were limited to monochrome (black and white). They would then need a "Technicolor Advisor" to help convert technicolor negatives into monochrome prints.

That makes sense I guess.
