DVD cover

I don't know what film the image of Glenn Ford on the DVD cover is from, but it's definitely not from "The Desperadoes", as he didn't wear that coat or hat in the film and didn't use a rifle.

Perhaps this portrait-still was from a pre-production costume test. These sometimes featured outfits that were either radically altered or not used at all by the actor concerned. A few examples follow:

• Errol Flynn in "The Adventures of Robin Hood": 1) dark cap replaced by lighter cap, long feather in cap replaced by much shorter feather, hood kept open instead of closed, waistbelt and swordbelt replaced, hunting-horn replaced by dagger, leather pouch jettisoned, chinbeard added to mustache, actor's own hair replaced by wig; 2) actor's wig restyled, costume jettisoned, decorative hood assigned to another character.

• Charleton Heston in "Ben-Hur": charioteer tunic replaced (regrettably), cloak retained (temporary), leather cap added (temporary).

Check on Google Images, among other sources.

Perhaps you can spot the hat and jacket worn by Glenn Ford in this portrait-still being worn by another actor/s in "The Desperadoes". The rifle could have been carried by anyone armed with a rifle.
