Our tough talking leading lady references Jackie Robinson at one point during this film. Is she talking about the baseball player? Because he wouldn't be on the Brooklyn Dodgers for 4 more years so was he still so well known in the Negro Leagues that folks would recognize his name?

That is NOT who she is referring too. The expression is Jack Robinson. Not Jackie.
