I liked it

Zucco and Frye as Dracula and Renfield types. But the Count has a good brother whom needs to go!

Sad how many snobs put this film down. Not a bad little film at all.Nice atmosphere too.

I thought it was good too. Obviously I wish there was a better print of it available. I saw it recently on TCM and even the print they used was so dark it was almost un-watchable. But I think the acting, especially Zucco, and script are pretty decent. "Feel the weight of my hatred"

Yes, I got it on one of those 'millcreek' 50 movie sets and recorded it off of TCM too.The print was only slightly better but the sound was just as bad.Shame, not a bad little film.

Very very good movie...
It's sad.. this film doesn't deserve the fate it wound up with.

I thought this film wasn't half bad. It's a bit too slow and talky, but George Zucco was excellent in a juicy dual role and it's always a treat to watch Dwight Frye play one of his usual crazed servant parts.

I'm in the same boat. I liked it. It wasn't bad at all. The ending was cool.

what an atmospheric piece with great rich dialogue right from the start (mixing in all kinds of monster tales), ten minutes in a great deal has already happened in this, which came as a surprise as i previously had seen some pretty slow features in the same dvd box i got this in titled 50 movies horror classics, i didn't know tcm had aired it, i used to get a version of that great channel, and some intense fire burning scene, the casket looked like a spaceship then as it were floating, the guy backing up just a bit on the balcony as the mob approached him looked funny as they weren't on camera yet, two grandpas battling it out by the end must be a pretty uncommon sight, what's not uncommon though is this title, this is such a common title among entertainment now but i figure it might just be the first of its sort since this is from the early 1940s.
