Audio Visual quality?

I saw this film on TCM recently, and found it very difficult to see and hear based on the quality of the film. I am going to assume that this is the best surviving print, since I haven't known TCM to play very low quality prints from other films. But does anyone know of a better version? The sound in particular was quite atrocious, making it very difficult to follow dialogue.
