Tales from the Vienna Woods or The Blue Danube?

My favorite segment in this cartoon is the Tales from the Vienna Woods.
I like when Bugs pulls his final gag in the end by revealing his bra and wearing a tutu and pointe shoes. Bugs looks so cute and funny as a ballerina. I laughed myself so much in that closing scene.

I much prefer the first segment, too. I think we're in the minority on that opinion.

I didn't laugh too much in the second segment. The gags weren't as funny as the first segment, especially the closing scene. But I enjoy looking at the artwork.
And baby Daffy looks more like a cute duckling rather that "The Ugly Duckling".

reply

The mother swan must have been prejudiced against the little black duck for his color. He certainly wasn't ugly.

I was going to put a sixth subject in this message board, but I decided to post this fun question. What kind of bloopers do you want to see in this cartoon?
For me, after Bugs slaps Porky's face, he has a hard time taking the bra off his chest.

reply

Ha, that'd be a good one!

Let's see, how about the post-mortem vulture's balloon popping?

That will be interesting to see the look of the vulture's face when he falls from the sky. Here's one more blooper that I could think of. Just when Bugs is about to use the bra to wrap around Porky and the dog's head, he slips and falls on Porky and the dog, and feels so embarrassed. I like to see Bugs' reaction when he does that.

reply

I'd like to see the dog get his eyes squirted with glycerin in order to create those fake tears.

Remember how Bugs kisses his enemies in order for him to escape? I wonder how his kissing gag will work with the music in the first segment of this cartoon?

reply

Hm, something to think about.

When Bugs dances and falls to the ground in the end of the first segment, what will happen if I try to pick him up and carry him to safety?

reply

Remember to introduce yourself.

After I carry Bugs as a ballerina safely to his rabbit hole, should I put him back to his bed?

reply

Don't linger, or people will get ideas!

Here's a unusual situation. If we managed to untied Porky and his hunting dog, what should we do with the blue bra?

reply

It wouldn't fit me.

Was Bugs smiling at the end after he gracefully falls down to the ground at the end of the first segment?

reply

Who wouldn't smile after a graceful pratfall?

...Justin

Speaking of falling, was Bugs falling backwards or forward?

reply

I can't remember. I always wonder if it was a stunt rabbit anyway.

How would Bugs as a ballerina, Porky and his hunting dog react if we set up a picnic in the middle of the forest?

reply

In terms of humour Tales from the Vienna Woods, the ending of that was hilarious, On the Beautiful Blue Danube was somewhat humourless in comparison.

In terms of animation, both were beautifully done, but On the Beautiful Blue Danube.

In terms of music, both, both have outstanding music, then again what do you expect from Johann Strauss II(aka. The Waltz King).
