The term 'African-American'!!!

Can a white person be an African-American?

Remember that Africa is a very big continent and not just a country and has many races from many different colors.

Every person from Africa is not Black.

Every Black person is not from Africa!! (Note the Aborigines from Australia)

In conclusion anyone from Africa who becomes a U.S. citizen is African American regardless of skin tint.

Also any U.S. citizen who is dark-skinned race is not necessarily African-American!!

To discuss this would upset the apple-cart of many politicians so no one will ever talk about this.

What do you think???
WWWT? (What would Whoopy Think?

Charlize Theron and Dave Matthews are both prominent African Americans. Not everyone uses "African American" to refer to black U.S. residents. Actually, a lot of people don't single out others by race at all, so they don't get hung up on labels.

reply

Charlize and Dave would be European Africans. Black US Residents is a stupid term to use since all of us of African descent do not share the same dark hue.

Despite the ignorance and irresponsibility of western media. Most dummies that refuses to research would be leave that all native inhabitants of Africa are the same shade. Just like how the same dummies think the continent of Africa is a country.

Don't be that big ol' dummy.

I heard someone say, "Nelson Mandela is a great African-American!"

I once posted this poster from "Bagger Vance (2000)" and asked who the real African-American was. Charlize Theron received the most votes.

I hate that term too.
But this may not be the place to discuss it.
Let's discuss Eddie Anderson's comical expressions instead.

People seem to forget that Africa has COUNTRIES! Someone from a West African country would be called a Ghana American. Just like you have French Americans. African American is a term for people of African descent who can not pin point their family origin unlike their European American counterpart.

Charlize Theron is a British South African. So please stop with the ignorance

I bet a lot of African Americans can not find Africa on a map.

The most important thing is sincerity. If you can fake that you've got it made.
