Lucille Ball a real beauty in this film!

Lucille Ball is so beautiful in this film!!

I Lucy but I actually think she's even more beautiful in most of her other films from this period especially DUBARRY WAS A LADY.

I'm so used to seeing her in black & white in I Love Lucy, it's hard to see her in living color. I haven't seen the other two series she did in decades.

While I got your attention, the young ladies in their white gowns all look like Rainbow Girls (except for the flowers), if you know what I mean.

Lucille Ball evidently acted as a blond for years. When Technicolor came into being and popularity, she went to red. That is when she became more visible, but was still cast in "B" movies. Her nickname at that time was "Technicolor Tessie".
It's a shame that she was never really appreciated until "I Love Lucy". I love the show!!! But when you see all that beauty and talent, it is ultimately what parts are received that dictate success in movies. I believe another thread on this movie mentions Virginia Weidler. She's not familiar to me other than this movie, but just watching this you can see she was underused and miscast. She should have been used as a young woman, the lead.
Oh, Hollywood. Perhaps Lucille Ball's song is the real heart of this movie!!
