I saw the first chapter in 1979 at a small sci-fi convention. After 36 years, I'll finally get to find out how Batman survived falling off the building.

Found it on VHS in early 90s. Haven't played it in a while.
Yes, I still have vhs capability.

What's a VHS? :)

Finished the series. Overall it was okay considering the time in which it was made. Like Batman of the Golden Age comics this one had no qualms about killing the bad guys, but he and Robin were definitely not fighters.

I was particularly surprised at the final chapter. I don't want to give any spoilers, but don't you think Linda Paige and the police captain should have figured out Batman and Robin were Bruce and Dick, especially in that last scene?
Were people in the 40's really that stupid?

=0=

Well, the people in the 1960s show were just as stupid. I mean how much can you really disguise your self with a mask or a cowl. The audience just suspends their belief for the the action or the camp fun.

I slept with you and you're in love with my husband. What the hell am I supposed to do with that?

I enjoyed this serial much more than I thought it would. Yes, it was obviously low-budget and the sometimes racist dialogue was off-putting but gosh if it wasn't a fun serial. I think the way to watch these multi-part cliffhangers is to watch the chapters separately instead of all at once to get the full goodness of them. I like to imagine how this and other early comic book serials like this one, CAPTAIN MARVEL, and SUPERMAN would have looked stylistically if Hollywood studios had put the top talents they had then on these properties. I wouldn't have wanted Lewis and Croft switched out though for bigger names because they were perfect in the roles.

'Cause I'm Black you think I did it?

I enjoyed watching this on Saturday mornings, will miss it.

Pretty inadvertantly hilarious! The costumes alone! The bad guys in hats just stood around while Batman gave them a good thrashing, Batman jumping in a regular car and driving off, the eeevil oriental villains. A real hoot.

I imagine easily pleased children during the 40's, having spent a nickel for their popcorn at the Saturday matinee, probably looked forward each week to to a new installment.
