Robert Mitchum
Does anyone know at what point Robert Mitchum appears in the film? He apparently has a one-line role but I was unable to spot him.

I think that I have found him in the following scene.
It is the scene that takes place at the rear of the ship when it is in heavy fog.
"Parker" is ordered to get some men and throw a towing spar off of the ship so that the ship behind them will know that they are getting too close to the rear of "The Sea Witch".
I listened for a single line of dialogue that sounded like Robert Mitchums' voice. In this scene just before the spar is tossed over board you can hear someone say.
"Heave"
The actor who says the line is standing right behind "Parker".
If you slow the film down to frame by frame you can see this actor more clearly. The actor has a cap on his head and a life vest comes up around his neck so you don't see much.
However if you look closely you will see a pretty good profile of the actors face.
In this view the actor looks like Robert Mitchum
When you run the scene at normal speed this camera shot and spoken line goes by very quickly.
The real clue however is the voice that says the line "Heave" it sounds very much like Mitchum.
Hope this helps,
Robert
I watched the scene, saw the guy with the black cap on his head. I dunno..
could be..
-- 'you're a good man, sister.' Humphrey Bogart
right after the scene where the convoy is attacked by the wolf pack, the lead ship skipper orders the signalman to signal 'dog king' , the signalman is then clearly shown flashing the searchlight and repeats 'dog king, aye' . .
that guy looks like mitchum to me..

Nope. And the actor's voice is to high. Wrong accent. NY.
Can you fly this plane?
Surely u cant be serious
I am serious, and dont call me Shirley
I'm pretty sure I found him. Right after the gunners do their target practice while some of the regular crew is watching Pulaski says something about it not looking so hard. He agrees to try and load a shell. As the original loader throws him one he says, "here, you give it a try." I'd bet that loader is Robert Mitcham. I was going to look at the footage that others suggested when I just happened to stop at that spot and heard his voice. His back is to the camera except for a moment after he spoke and you can see his profile. I rely on my hearing more than most people and I rarely make mistakes. I hope that doesn't sound arrogant, I just wanted to say sound is a very important part of my life. The scene is around the 58:00 mark.
