Last line (spoilers)

I was amused and surprised by Sam's self congratulatory "I've just launched Gerrald" line, as he held up the neck of the broken Champagne bottle with a peculiar look on his face - it seems he'd just bottled Gerrald and thrown him down a flight of stairs! Perhaps a slight overreaction? I can see Gerrald now at the foot of the stairs... a sorry, bloody mess. The scars. The legal consequences. I think Tess is facing some very interesting times as the REAL marriage gets underway!

Good film, in my opinion. A lot of intelligence in the writing, performance, and cinematography/editing, assumedly directing, too. Quality stuff. For example, the unfolding of Sam and Tess's characters and their coming together was very nicely handled in that we get lots of interesting/funny little digressions that give us a rounded sense of the characters and their lives yet we don't get bogged down and the drama keeps driving forward towards their romance - a great balance. The final kitchen slapstick business didn't do it for me, though, and Tess's desire to completely surrender her role as an international superwoman with incredible influence and social status to become a dutiful housewife felt a bit sudden and drastic. But it was a nice touch that Sam wanted to strike a balance though, indicated by his suggestion of "Tess Harding-Craig", and I guess we can take Tess's gesture as a temporary madness which would soon be replaced by something in between her two modes.

If to stand pat means to resist evil then, yes, neighbour, we wish to stand pat.
