I don't know how much acting talent that she had. She was definitely cast for her beauty instead.
But Boy, was she beautiful! There isn't an actress today who can hold a candle to her natural beauty. Beautiful face AND figure -- most actresses don't have both.

I agree. I'm watching her movies & her face is a work of art. Truly no one can match her beauty. This movie is so hard to find. It's frustrating.
shareI've seen many of her movies, and she definitely proved herself a capable actress in an array of roles.
I'm sure that this role amused her, and I wondered if they weren't aiming at her approach when Jennifer Jones played Pearl in "Duel in the Sun". Jennifer's hairstyle is very Tondelayo-ish when one would expect her to have straight hair instead; and her makeup is about that dark.
Again, as intelligent as she was, I'll bet Hedy just did her best with what she had to deal with.
