Beautiful movie.
This is a wonderful film, very romantic but with a political undercurrent of it's times. Highly recommended if you can find it to rent or buy.

It is a very beautiful film. It can be found pretty easily on VHS, but
I have heard that it doesn't exist on DVD.

I found it on VHS about fifteen years ago, and it was quite hard to find a VHS copy that wasn't extraordinarily pricey.
But good news is it's now available as a Criterion DVD.
