Maureen O'Hara's Hair

I noticed that through most of the movie her hair was the bright red that I remember her having. However towards the end of the movie, it changes color. It is now rather dark, and hardly red at all. I'm just wondering if this was due to it being colored and not natural (although I believe she is a real redhead), inconsistencies in the color print process or reels that were produced at different times? Also, some of this movie had to be reshot due to the start of the war; maybe that had something to do with it? Just curious.

The film was colorized.

Nope, it was in Technicolor. http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/review?res=9405E5D71F3BE33BBC4E51DFB56 68389659EDE

I, too noticed that Maureen's hair seemed lighter and darker at different times. Maybe the lighting?
