Realism in this movie

FIRST:The disclaimer. I know full well that this movie was intended as a propaganda piece/romance flick and not a action/documentary. HOWEVER, if you are going to film at MCRD and not use extras, then for G-d's sake, do it right!

Several other posters have already alluded to correct wear of uniform, flicking cigarette butts, etc.

Chris Winters was a truly slimy character who probably would have rated a blanket party for his smugness.

I wasn't a Marine, but I know a bit about military history & customs. Well, more than a bit. The DI in this movie was way too much of a Caspar Milquetoast; I wanted an R.Lee Ermey to kick Winter's tuchas and wipe the smugness off his face.

Other than that, a satisfactory wartime romance flick.
