I wonder if Hogan's Heroes was inspired by this too

both have goofball Nazis named Schultz and Sig Ruman is so amazing in this, it just really reminded me of the show. What a great film :D

Now I know how King Arthur felt when Lancelot caressed his wife's genitalia!

I think To Be Or Not To Be set the standard for all Nazi satires that followed, so I think it's fair to say that Hogan's Heroes is at least partially influenced by it.

BTW, there's an interesting parallel, in that the lead in To Be Not To Be, Jack Benny, was Jewish. So were all the actors who played the main German characters (ie Schultz, Klink, Burkhalter, and Hotstetter) on Hogan's Heroes. And of course, Mel Brooks has stuck his tongue at Nazis in several of his movies (including a remake of To Be Or Not To Be), so there's seems to be a running theme of Jewish performers making fun of Nazis over the decades.
