This morning, I stumbled onto this movie on tv half-way through, and was quite touched by it. (Sentimental, idealistic old me!?)

Anyway, I saw the second and third sections containing the stories of the feminist and the doctor. However, I missed the first section about (I think) a family with a sick child. Can anyone tell me please what happened with those people? Thank you.

Very poor husband and wife of 10 children decide to move to USA from Britain after the husband loses his job. There children are left behind, but they have the hope to afford them a better life in the long run.
