Deep in the Heart of...Where?
It was made clear several times that the air base, the ranch, and the town were all in Arizona, yet "Deep in the Heart of Texas" kept playing in the background. Not making a point here, just an observation.

"Deep in the Heart of Texas" was apparently a very popular song during the early forties. It was used in a number of other World War Two movies. I don't think it would matter where the story taxes place.
TAG LINE: True genius is a beautiful thing, but ignorance is ugly to the bone.
Besides, there were very few songs about Arizona and still are.
